Beledweyne (HOL) - At least one person has been killed and several others sustained serious injuries after the perimeter wall collapsed in Beledweyne, central Somalia.
The incident happened on Thursday in the Howlwadag neighbourhood.
Mohamed Abdi Saney, a journalist in Beledweyne confirmed the tragedy saying the wall has collapsed on several people who were having tea close to the wall.
Saney confirmed the death of one person and injuries of several other people.
The injuries were taken to hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
The names of those injured were not immediately made available but were said to be working as porters in the town.
