The newly elected Hirshabelle State president, Mohamed Abdi Ware has appointed new governor for Hiiraan region barely three days after he overwhelmingly won presidential election held in Somalia's regional state of Somalia.Ali Jeyte Osman has been appointed for the post, making him the first official appointed for the top post since Ware elected as the President of Hirshabelle.
In a presidential decree seen by Hiraan Online, Ommar Ibrahim Baadiyow, has been relieved of his duty of Hiraan governorship, a move Aware aimed to reshuffle his administration.
“Ali Jeyte Osman has been appointed for the governorship of Hiraan region,” reads the decree which dated 19th September.
Mr. Ali Osman Jeyte, former minister has held this post last year, replacing Yussuf Dabageed.
Hirshabelle’s regional Parliament has elected Mohamed Abdi Ware nearly a month after they delivered a vote of no confidence to the former president Ali Abdullahi Osoble.
Eight candidates stood in the election, but it was Ware who emerged victorious with 74 votes. His nearest rival, Dahir Abdulle Awale trailed in a distant second with 23 votes.
New governor of Hiiraan Region
Mr. Ware who previously worked in ICRC, FAO, UNDP and World Bank's ICT Project has during his campaign pledged implementation of infrastructure development and enhance peace throughout Hirshabelle State.
