During a packed nomination meeting  Etobicoke North New Democrats nominated Mahamud Amin as the NDP candidate for the 2018 provincial election.

Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath attended the nomination meeting, and said that Mahamud Amin will be an important voice for Etobicoke families as their MPP and he is a vital addition to the growing Toronto NDP team.

Mahamud Amin said Etobicoke families need someone on their side, for a change.

“Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals really let us down. They made life harder for Ontario families. They made life more expensive, and they haven’t provided any local job opportunities,” Amin said.

“Today families in Etobicoke North are struggling with high unemployment, clogged transit and rising hydro and housing costs.  Andrea Horwath offers hope. For more stable, family-supporting jobs in Etobicoke North, for a more affordable life for our families and for health care, education and seniors care we can really count on, I’m really excited about where Andrea is ready to take the province, and I’m ready to be a part of her team.”

Mahamud Amin is longtime volunteer in Etobicoke North with the Somali Youth Association of Toronto.
