Kenyan security officers escaped unhurt after a roadside bomb hit their convoy in Gerille, Wajir County.Mr Mwenze said that the vehicle that was leading the convoy, a land cruiser, ran over an improvised explosive devise.
According to the county's Divisional Criminal Investigations Officer, Mr Michael Mbayi Mwenze, Kenya Defence Forces soldiers and their Kenya Police counterparts were carrying out a joint operation after suspected Al-Shabaab militants were spotted.

There were no casualties.
"We are grateful that we did not suffer any casualties. However, this is a warning to the officers to be be more careful when carrying out their operations," he said.
