In a bid to provide a better transportation system, tech entrepreneurs from Somalia have launched the country’s first taxi hailing app Waryaa Taxi, much like Uber, it allows customers to book rides from their smartphones. For those who do not have access to a smartphone or computer, the Waryaa app allows users to contact a call centre to dispatch a ride, the user then gets a call directly from the driver.

The free web and smartphone application connects passengers directly with taxi drivers allowing customers to book taxis conveniently.
