According to court documents, the militants were guilty of perpetrating a devastating twin bomb attack at marketplace and restaurant in the heart of Baidoa on February 28, 2016. The attack left at least 80 people killed and seriously wounded 45 others; the vast majority of the victims were civilians.
"The court carried out the death penalties for four Al-Shabaab militants who organized and performed twin terrorist attacks in Baidoa town last year that left 80 people dead and 45 others injured," Deputy prosecutor Mumin Hussein Abdulahi told reporters.
