One person has been arrested in connection with the foiled terrorist attack at Central Police Station in Mombasa on Sunday.
The suspect, a woman, was housing the three women within Kibokoni estate in Mombasa.
A team of anti-terrorism police officers raided her house and recovered, passports and several mobile phones.
Regional co-ordinator Nelson Marwa told journalists the the detectives are interrogating the woman with possibility of apprehending key individuals behind the attack.
"The target is known and we already have a lead which will help us in the investigation." Marwa said.
Three terrorists were killed in the mid-morning attack.
County commander Peterson Maelo said three women in hijabs went to the station pretending they wanted to report a crime.
Maelo said one took out a knife and stabbed the officer manning the report desk forcing his colleagues to shoot them.
