The victim of Sunday's shooting outside an Edmonton nightclub has been identified by community members as Amin Abdullahi, known to friends as Hamza Tyme.

The 30-year-old died in hospital Sunday after he was shot outside the Tribute Lounge near 81st Avenue and 105th Street.

Sources told CBC News that Tyme's brother, who was with him at the time, was also shot and is recovering after surgery.

Grieving family members are flying in from Kenya, London and Ottawa, where Tyme and his brother grew up.

A gofundme campaign has raised nearly $8,000 so far to cover the family's travel and funeral expenses.

Police say several witnesses have come forward. They say the shootings may be drug or gang related.

The death is one of half a dozen police have investigated in the past six days.
