The Ethiopian contingent of AMISOM has started operations against Al-shabaab following the recent attack by Al-shabaab against their base at Halgan in Somalia's Hiiraan Region.
The Ethiopian troops backed by the Somali National Armey (SNA) have started the military operations in parts of west Hiiraan.
A spokesperson for SNA by the name Mohamed Omar said their forces were divided into two each facing a different direction. The first unit travelled up to a place called Wabho at Buq-aqable in Hiiraan.
He added that they have killed more than 10 Al-shabaab militiamen and that it was confirmed that they injured an Al-shabaab official by the name Dhuhul.
So far Al-shabaab militias have not issued any statement with regard to that clash.
