Two hundred Somali police officers completed their three-month training in Djibouti led by Italian carabinieri, local media reported on Sunday.
The objective of this training, conducted under the auspices of cooperation between Somalia and Italy, was to reinforce the skills of these officers to fight against insecurity.
The training which was the fourth of its kind, mainly focused on maintenance of law and order, protection of VIPs as well as investigations at crime scenes.
The police officers came from Somalia’s main regions of Mogadishu, Puntland and Galmudug.
The closing ceremony was attended by Somalia’s Interior Minister Abdourazak Mohamed and the commander of Italian carabinieri Gen. Tullio Del Sette.
