Buulo Burte hospital was built in Hiiraan, Somalia late in the 1950. After the central government collapsed in 1990, the hospital was not properly functioning.
For a brief period of time, it ran under the group doctors without borders, and then it stopped running because of the conflict in the region'. Since the central government took back the city and hospital, the facility was aging and badly damaged.
The hospital needs to be rebuilt it because it needs lots of major renovation before it can provide the basic primary healthcare services to the growing local population estimated at 120,000. Sadly, if the Buulo Burte hospital is not functioning, the closest hospital is located in 120km in Beleit-weyn(Hiiraan region).
So, HCI is working with our local partners on the ground to rebuild the hospital in order for it to provide the health care to the local population. Please help us with this project, please donate generously.
