BATA, Equatorial Guinea (AP) -- Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry scored the winning penalty kick moments after making a save Sunday to give his team a 9-8 shootout victory over Ghanain the African Cup of Nations final after a 0-0 draw.
Barry saved the previous kick from Ghana goalkeeper Razak Braimah, and then stepped up to score the deciding penalty.
The Ivorians finally won their second African Cup title after two shootout losses in the last decade. Their only other title came in 1992.
The Ivory Coast played this time without striker Didier Drogba, who retired from international soccer. But the team still had Manchester City teammatesWilfried Bony and Yaya Toure, a four-time African player of the year.
Toure scored his penalty in the shootout, but Bony missed.
