The Resident City Commissioner of Kampala, Aisha Kabanda, has advised schools around the city centre to step up security in their premises following threats by Al-Shabab to hit the country.
“Al-Shabab threats are real and therefore, you should ensure that security is stepped up to avoid loss of lives,” Kabanda told the administration of Little Muheji School in Nansana, Kampala on Friday.

The US recently killed the top most wanted Al-Shabab terrorist Ahmed Godane through airstrike in Mogadishu the capital of Somalia and Islamist militants vowed to retaliate his death by striking Uganda and Kenya because of their troops deployed in the law less state under AMISON.
Uganda security forces last week arrested suspected terrorists in the country and their hideouts busted.
Kabanda asked the school administration to condemn terrorism activities and applauded them for dedicating a day of prayer for the nation to ensure that there is peace.

“Say no to terrorism and rioters,” Kabanda said.
The city commissioner was speaking during prayers organized by Little Muheji School for the country to have peace.
She also implored the parents and teachers to condemn rapists, prostitution, child abuse and civil disobedience.
She advised pupils not to walk alone but walk in pairs or in groups to avoid being raped.
The District Police Commander of Wakiso district, Apollo Kyangungu, also appealed to School administration to ensure that security is tightened within the school premises.
“Al-Shabab threats are real and therefore, don’t take chances,” Kyangungu said.

He commended the school for organizing prayers for the country.
“It’s the first of its kind. You are the first school which has dedicated a day for prayers for the country,” he said.
The head teacher of Little Muheji Joy Mubangizi said that the school administration was prompted to pray for the country due to Al-Shabab threats and asked God to intervene to ensure that citizens’ lives are protected.
She also decried rampant child sacrifice and abuse, prostitution and child defilement.
A gospel artiste Catherine Murungi entertained guests during prayers and was later joined Pastor Wilson Mugembe.
