The inauguration ceremony of Somalia’s Daarood Clan King on Sunday 25th of May, has seen the biggest audience at an inaugural ceremony of a Clan leader in Somalia in recent years.
The event was observed in the town of Qardho in the Bari region of the Puntland state of Somalia in the attendance by many political and traditional leaders including three former Somali prime ministers, the president of the semi-autonomous Somali state of Puntland and delegates from neighboring countries namely Yemen and Somali region in Ethiopia.
The inauguration of King Burhan Muse as the Daarood clan’s 34th King has marked the end of a controversy over the inauguration of another man Ahmed Abdullahi, the son of the late king Abdullahi who was crowned earlier in the year, but was said to be null and void.
President of the regional state of Puntland Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas who addressed at the inauguration ceremony said that it was a great day for the entire Somali people and in particularly his own clan for having the 34th clan king in place after a year of absence since the death of former King Abdullahi Muse.
The new King Burhan himself told the ceremony that he will work harder to get a unified Somalia once again saying that the strength and the power of Somalia can only be regained under unity.
