MINNEAPOLIS—A Minneapolis School Board member won more convention delegates than a longtime state legislator in a precinct caucus rescheduled after the initial meeting ended with a fight.
Mohamud Noor will send 28 delegates to the Senate District 60 convention April 5, while veteran lawmaker Phyllis Kahn will have 15 delegates. Delegates at that meeting will have an opportunity to bestow the DFL party's endorsement.

The first caucus at a community center earlier this month ended when activists came to blows over who should run the meeting. Wednesday's caucus, which drew 421 delegates and dozens of observers was held at University of Minnesota's Coffman Union. KARE-TV says people outside the district ran Wednesday's meeting.

Kahn's political turf has changed during her 42 years in office. It's now home to a large East African population, many who share Noor's Somali heritage.
