Somali militants Al-Shabaab have ordered the suspension of Hormuud Telecommunication services in several districts in Bay region, Bar-Kuan Radio reported.
The reason behind the order of the Al-Qaida affiliated group is not yet established.
The group, which still controls the area, ordered the complete shutdown of the network but other networks from various companies are still operative.
Hormuud workers told a local radio station on condition of anonymity that they have halted operations after Al-Shabaab ordered then to do so. Al Shabaab warned Hormuud staff in the area to abide by the order until further notice.
The residents in the area have complained about the second day without network.
