A Somali military court sentenced soldiers
Yahya Sheikh Abdillahi and Hussein Ali Ahmed to death Monday (September
2nd) for killing two Somali policemen in Mogadishu, UN-funded Radio
Bar-Kulan reported.
Abdillahi was a member of the Somali National Army and Ali was part
of the Madani militia that operates in Wadajir district of Benadir
region.
"The decision to sentence the two soldiers was issued by the military
court by using sharia and the country's laws," said Liban Abdi Yarow,
chairman of Somalia's military court.
Four Somali National Army soldiers were executed in July after the
military court found them guilty of murdering an official in Mogadishu.
