Saudi border guards at the southern border nabbed 584 Ethiopian nationals trying to sneak into the Kingdom through the Yemeni border in the first week of Ramadan.
Local media quoted Capt. Ali Al-Qahtani, spokesman of Saudi Border Guards in Najran, as saying the Ethiopians constituted the largest percentage of infiltrators in the first week of Ramadan. He added that 1,120 infiltrators from four different countries have since been arrested at the southern border.
Among them are 584 from Ethiopia, around 52 percent of the total, while 398 are from Yemen, 137 from Somalia and one from Egypt.
The Border Guards confiscated banned substances and vehicles used for their transport.
