Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Brigadier Dick Olum to lead the African Union Mission in Somalia's Ugandan contingent, replacing Brigadier Michael Ondoga, Uganda's New Vision reported Monday (July 1st).

Olum has been leading a force comprising regional troops against remnants of the Lord's Resistance Army in South Sudan and the Central African Republic. He will be replaced by Brigadier Sam Kavuma, who recently received a degree from Kenya National Defence College.

Ondoga will be transferred to Nairobi to serve as the military attaché at the Ugandan High Commission.
