Alshabab militants hailed the death of rival moderate islamist leader Shiekh Mohamed Yusuf Hefow.
The group says hefow was an Ethiopian puppet and his death will disrupt the plots of infidels in the country.
“After his death the people of Galgudud and Somalia at large will rest in peace” Shiekh Hassan yakub, Alshabab commander of Galgudud region in central Somalia said in a media briefing.
The leader of Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a Shiekh Mohamed Yusuf Hefow has been receiving medical treatment in an Amisom managed hospital in Mogadishu, before he died.
Sheikh Hefow has been working closely with the Somali federal government in Mogadishu and has pledged to hand over the authority of the places they control to the government.
