Somalia Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon faced tough
questions from parliament on his government’s performance, since he took the
office on Saturday.
Members of parliament raised questions on how Shirdon’s government
is handling key national issues in the country including, IGAD’s stabilization plan,
The deteriorating security situation in Mogadishu and bilateral agreements with
foreign governments, such as Turkey.
Addressing MPs during the Prime Minister’s Question Time, Mr
Shirdon said no steps have been taken without the knowledge of the parliament.
“We had military agreements with Turkey and I submitted all the documents to the speaker of the house,
Mohamed Osman Jawari” said the Prime Minister.
In a rare heated debate in parliament chaired by deputy
speaker, Mahad Abdalla Awad , some
MPs expressed their frustration to the anwers provided by the PM, and demanded
more detailed information from the government.

reassuring parliament’s dedication to audit them.
Interior and security minister, Abdikarim Hussien Guled will
face the house in another day of questions, tomorrow.
