Puntland regional President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole discussed security improvements and political developments with a European Union delegation in Garowe on Wednesday (April 17th), Somalia's Garowe Online reported.
Farole and the delegation, led by European Commission Director for for East and Southern Africa Francesca Mosca, tackled a range of issues including Puntland's security, development and democratisation, co-operation with the Somali federal government, and the upcoming "New Deal" conference on Somalia in Brussels in September.
Mosca, who met with Somali Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon in Mogadishu on Tuesday, emphasised that Puntland is "an important region for our support".
"The new deal arrangement between donors and Somalia as a whole will determine the priorities for Somalia so that the donors can help fulfil these priorities," she said.
