A regional meeting intended to discuss on Somalia’s security in Addis ababa was postponed following Kenyan petition to wait until the inauguration of the new Kenyan elect president Uhuru Kenyatta.

There are reports that the meeting will take place in Nairobi in a heads of state level along side with the inauguration ceremony of the Kenyan leader which will be attended by several heads of states of IGAD member countries on 9 April.

The Addis ababa meeting was proposed by the Somali government to reduce the influence of IGAD regional body in the administration making process of liberated regions in Somalia.

Somalia’s federal government intends to create interim regional governments for liberated areas before they can choose their leaders to avoid power vacuum after Alshabab was driven out from Key towns.

IGAD leaders will also discuss on the controversial administration creation process for Jubbaland where the Federal government and the region’s interim leaders failed to agree in a peaceful political settlement following five day visit of Prime minister Abdi Farah Shirdon to Kismayo which ended in a deadlock.
