The One World Soccer Tournament for Refugee Youth will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix.
It's located on 25th Avenue, north of Dunlap Avenue.
"We're trying to find common ground," said one of the participants. "We're trying to bring not just the Iraqi community, but other communities together, and I guess the common ground here would be soccer."
Teams will include children from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Burma, Burundi, Congo, Iraq, and Somalia.
