Kiss 100’s presenter Shaffie Weru is set to fly to Somali. The Rush Hour presenter is scheduled to leave on Tuesday morning for Mogadishu where he will pay a visit to several clinics and schools.

“I will be travelling with Colins Owili the CEO Mulrany an NGO that works in war-torn areas and deals with health and education issues. I met them in the UK during a Kenyan event and they told me about their project and I went for it.

I will be doing this for free, it is not an endorsement. This will be an inaugural visit. I will be going there with fresh eyes to see what their project is about and see what I can do in future to help. We will be taking books and medical supplies as well,” Shaffie told Word Is.

However, Shaffe will be cutting his beard prior to his visit. “I’m taking precautions I will have to do away with my Wizard of Oz beard so that I’m not confused for al Shabaab after all there is no al Shabaab member who has many tattoos like I do.”

Mulrany aims to empower people to live better lives on their own resources without needing future aid. Through community partnership and training the NGO enables individuals, doctors and communities to access better health care, avoid getting sick, access clean water and start businesses.

Currently it is working in Mogadishu and Middle Shabelle. Shaffie who also writes the Raverend column will be jetting off to Dar es Salaam for Rick Ross’s concert tomorrow during this year’s Serengeti Fiesta.
