Sunday 25th, November – Mandela Stadium Namboole
Somalia Vs Burundi – 4pm
Tanzania Vs Sudan – 6pm – All games live on SS9East
After a successful opening day yesterday afternoon, Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup action turns to group B with Somalia taking on Burundi in the first of the day’s two matches before Sudan entertain Tanzania at Mandela Stadium, Namboole.
Somalia Coach Sam Ssimbwa has already set his targets for the competition as reaching the quarterfinals but will have to start working towards that with victory over Burundi.
However, this is not an easy job at hand for Somalia who have failed to make it out of the group stages for the last couple of campaigns and face a Burundi side that boosts of deadly strikers in Yanga African forward Didier Kavumbagu and Fiston Abdulrazak.
Somalia will have all hopes in captain Mohamed Kadar Daher if they are to pick a decent result from the encounter.
In the other game, three time winners Sudan and Tanzania face off in what is arguably the match of the day. Both sides will aim at getting to a winning start in order to brighten their chances of reaching the quarter finals.
Tanzania Coach Kim Poulsen will have all hopes for victory shouldered on danger man Mrisho Ngassa.
The last time the two sides clashed in the competition, Sudan won 1-0 to finish third in last year’s completion in Dar Salaam.
