Attacker on Church Identified in Kenya
Prensa Latina
Monday, May 07, 2012
Nairobi, May 6 (Prensa Latina) Kenyan authorities identified the alleged attacker who last Sunday hurled a grenade at a church, an action that killed two people and injured 16, police sources reported on Sunday.
Police Chief Mathew Iteere underlined that several pictures of the attacker were distributed among police squads throughout the country for his arrest.
Iteere, who did not reveal the name of the attacker, told the press that the suspect is one of over 200 men recruited by the Somali Islamic radical group Al-Shabaab, who recently returned to this country from Somalia.
The Kenyan Army, comprised of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), penetrated into the Somali territory on October 2011 in response to the kidnapping of foreign collaborators in that country, who were abducted by the Islamic militia Al Shabaab, according to the government.
