The Somali Committee for National Security announced that it will close certain roads in Mogadishu beginning Tuesday (July 10th) to ensure security for the duration of the National Constituent Assembly's meetings to ratify the constitution, Somalia's Jowhar reported Sunday.
"After July 10th, some roads that go to School Polizio will be closed, and no motorists will be allowed. Maka al-Mukarama Road will also be closed and only pedestrians will be allowed to cross it," said Director General of the Ministry of Interior and National Security General Bashir Mohamed Jama.
The closures are expected to last two weeks during the ratification process, which will take place at the General Kaahiye Police Training School.
