Novelist Nuruddin Farah to give public reading at Carleton

Award-winning Somali novelist Nuruddin Farah, who has been writing about his native land and its challenges for more than four decades, will read from his work at Carleton College in the Weitz Center for Creativity.

Farah’s appearance is sponsored by the Carleton College Department of English and it is free and open to the public.

Farah has explored what he has described as the “true history” of his nation. He has paid particular attention to the plight of women.

Farah currently lives in South Africa but is teaching this year at the University of Minnesota.
