newsinisideAn eighth person has been freed on bail by detectives investigating the gun murder of two teenagers on a council estate.
The man was detained in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, on Tuesday afternoon over the deaths of Mohammed Abdi Farah, 19, and 18-year-old Amin Ahmed Ismail.
The shootings took place in an alleyway on the town’s Fishermead council estate, shortly after 10pm on May 26.
Both victims were from the Somali community and were known to police for low-level crime.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said today that the suspect was held on suspicion of murder in Milton Keynes and has been bailed to July 4.
CCTV images of Mr Farah wearing a fisherman-style hat and Mr Ismail wearing an orange hooded top have been released by police.
The images were taken at the Xscape leisure complex in Milton Keynes at about 9.35pm - less than an hour before their deaths.
The men left Xscape at about 9.40pm.
They then walked back to the estate and were last sighted near X-Trim barber’s shop in Gurnards Avenue at about 9.50pm.
Police said officers have taken nearly 200 statements, been contacted by more than 200 people and collected more than 350 exhibits in less than a week.
Hours of CCTV has also been seized and is being viewed, and the victims’ families are being kept updated on the progress of the inquiry.
Seven other people arrested in connection with the killings are also on police bail.
