Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) - Somalia’s interim Prime Minister Mr. Nur Hassan Hussein (Nur Adde) has announced his candidacy for Somalia’s interim presidency.
The interim PM announced his candidacy to reporters while flying out of Adan Ade International Airport in Mogadishu. He said that he decided to run for the position after he has been advised to do so by members in the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), the Somalia Diaspora, and many Somalia citizens.
“Many Somalis have advised me to run for the position of the President of Somalia and present my plans and priorities for the future of Somalia” said the interim PM while flying to Djibouti.
The announcement of the PM’s candidacy comes at a time when it is expected that a unity government consisting of the TFG and the Alliance for the Liberation of Somalia (ARS) will be formed
in Djibouti which will pave the way for the election of an interim Parliamentary Speaker and an interim President who will select an interim PM.
The acting interim President who is also the interim Speaker of the Parliament Sheik Adam Mohamed Nuur (Adam Madobe) recently said that an interim TFG President will be elected on January 26.
