Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) - There are conflicting reports about a ship docked inMogadishu port. Some reports say the ship is carrying weapons for AMISOM troops stationed in Mogadishu.

Deputy Chief of the police forces Col. Yusuf Hussein Osman Dhuumaal, however, said that ship is carrying military equipment for the federal government troops.

“The ship is carrying uniforms and vehicle intended for the federal government’s forces and it is not true that the ship is carrying weapons for AMISOM troops” said Col. Dhuumaal.

Col. Dhuumaal added that the UN gave the uniforms and vehicles to the federal government and that they will soon be given to the federal troops.

Col. Dhuumaal also talked about a shelling that was targeted at the ship the other day saying that the shells came from the area of Hamar Jadiid but the federal government troops as well as AMISOM troops decided not to respond to the shelling for fear that innocent civilians will be hurt. Col. Dhuumaal called on Somalis to resist those using them as human shields by hiding among them and firing shells at government troops.
