Eyewitnesses say at least 20 people have been killed in clashes between Somali Islamist insurgents and Ethiopian forces in the Somali capital of Mogadishu.
Five Ethiopian soldiers, three government soldiers and civilians are reported to be among those killed. Somalia has been wracked by violence since Ethiopia sent in troops in 2006 to support the government against rebel Islamist militias.
The rebels were ousted from the capital a year ago, but the militia's remnants have since waged a guerrilla war against the government, its Ethopian allies and African Union peacekeepers.
