The parents of a two-year-old Manchester, New Hampshire girl are suing their former landlord and building manager, alleging that not enough was done to protect their daughter from poisonous lead.Two-year-old Arbay Osman's family came to New Hampshire as refugees from Somalia two years ago. Last summer, tests showed a dangerously high level of lead in the girl's blood, and she has been hospitalized several times since then.
Her parents argue that the owners of the apartment building and the property management company that takes care of it failed to inspect and repair the building or warn the family of the potential hazards.
More than 200 people were treated for lead poisoning in Manchester in the last two fiscal years. Close to 40 percent were refugees.
