MP Osman Ali Hassan (Atto)

Sources from the City Baidao say that Islamic Court forces detained and later released MP Osman Hassan Ali (Atto) after some negotiations.

Sheik Adan Moalin Muse, the commander of the Islamic Courts forces in the area between Lego and Qardho of Lower Shabelle and Bay regions said that while the Islamic Court forces were in defensive posts against “the enemy of Somali people”, unexpected encountered [the convoy of] Osman Atto and detained and released him after negotiations.

Sheik Adan Moalin Muse added that on the request of Osman Atto, the Islamic Courts forces escorted him to unidentified area. It is reported that at the time of his capture, Osman Atto was on his way to Mogadishu.

Two of these attacks were aimed at the Minister of Finance Mohamed Ali Hamud and the Minister the Interior Affairs Musa Nur Amin of the TFG. Furthermore, recent clashes between forces belonging the Islamic Courts and Ethiopian troops forced large number of habitants in the area to flee their homes
