It's true and Zami is correct the Somali federal parliament is not an elected parliament but a selected body.

But it's not true that the president's election was considered a fair process and Zami and others are wrong to say that process was corrupt.

President Hassan Sheikh's election was legit, fair and square. His predecessor acknowledged it and we have all witnessed in a live feed.

Vision 2016 is just a vision. It doesn't mean failure to reach that vision will automatically extend the president's term of office.

If anything, the elders must select new parliament and that parliament must vote to elect a president.

If President Hassan wins, fine. If he loses, more power to Somalia's awkward democracy!

I hope there's election. And I hope HSM loses!

Somalia is tired of HSM & his blind minions and Somalia needs a fresh start!

The parliament was not elected democratically, it was selected by elders based on clan. The president, who is an international disgrace, was selected by an unelected parliament, with credible allegations of vote buying. Somalias' current political system does not represent the Somali people, because no Somali citizen voted for any of the current political leaders. Looking at Hassan Sheikh makes me want to throw up! Less than a year after he visited the UK in 2012, a new oil & gas company called Soma Oil & Gas was created with its focus only on Somalia. It's lead by an ex conservative party MP. Total corruption. We need real elections, ENOUGH WITH CLAN ELDERS! I respect my elders, but they have no idea what geo-politics is or what infastructure means. They need to be taking an afternoon nap, not be involved in politics.
