You are right, but the place is statehouse the equivalent of villa somalia. Also, its important to note, uhuru kenyatta himself is more of a kikuyu warlord than anything else indicted for crimes against humanity and he is therefore rushing in to secure his position competing with multiple tribal warlords, so I guess protocols like raising the flag of a visiting president is the least thing on his mind

Baghdad Bob is correct that the host nation should provide the flag. However it is also common practise that visiting delegation carries a flag and other national paraphernalia with them including ideally some sort of present with them. The fact that none of those accompanying the President had the foresight to carry a national flag with them shows the rank incompetence of those around him.

So all top three in the government are all abroad at the same time. This is getting beyond embarrassing now. Somebody really needs to tell them.

It's incoherent and disturbing when someone else says it.
It's a fact and patriotic when it is from you. Uunsi kuu
gaar ah baa kuu shidan indeed.

Stating the facts is clannish to a disturbed mind indeed.

You are a living testimony to the schizophrenia that devastated the somali nation. in one minute you derided the lack of patriotism among somalis and in the next you went down the drain of clannish talk, a very incoherent and opposing thoughts from a troubled mind......"When the madness of an entire nation disturbs a solitary mind, it is not enough to say the man is mad"

what is the big deal here folks, he will eventually come to Mogadishu, then will put a mini Kenya flag next gigantic Somali flag and post it online.. :)  ....then we can call it quit. lol

 @B.B

Yeah, Adeer ALi has nothing to do with this. Whose responsibility
is to give Somali flag to the state house? They should go
and buy the flag from Garissa Lodge huh?

It's Ali's responsibility and obviously he failed. And as Momo
said, one needs to go to Kaaraan to replace him. That is not
a way to run a country. I personally think he did many
good things. But it is about time to let him go. Perhpas
Ina Abdislaam should be given a chance? How about his deputy?
Or he has none?

"A picture worth a thousand words"

Big strong government meeting smaller dependent client state.

That is what this picture shows. Look how much Somali flag
is smaller than the Kenyans. That is how much our president
is smaller - not in weight, but in statue than the Kenyan.

Of course, we are not giving him the support and encouragement
he needs. Tribal enclaves are doing their most to undermine
him. His people are divided, therefore he will not be equal footing
with his counterparts.

And we are not even sure how he is handling this case.
Silence is not an option. I think it's his responsibility
to show tell us how he wants to lead. He should tell Somali
people what went wrong, what he needs to do and how to get
there. The nationalist will heed his call, the tribilist
will be left behind and Somalia will be back better and
stronger. The threat to Somali government is not Shebab
only, tribal fiefdoms should be dealt with too. Keep in
mind there is difference between tribal fiefdoms and federal
state we can have the later while we don't need the former.

Its the responsibility of the host country to provide the flag, its not part of the responsibility of the ambassador as the venue is in statehouse, kneya.
    baghdad bob @ 4/10/2013 2:25 PM EST
Somalia had no government for the past 22 years and therefore many countries don't even have its flag any more. Its part of the protocol of the host country to provide the flag at the venue, in this case kenya. But please let us be just here, most countries as I said just don't have that flag anymore.

Small flag for Somalia.....BIG flag for Kenya.

It's not the president's fault.

It's Ambassador Mohamed Ali America's fault.

He should be fired!

Oh! We can't fire him.

Why not?

Here is the reason we cannot fire him:

First the president and the foreign affairs minister have no courage and leadership to try and send Mohamed Ali Americo home.

second, Mohamed Ali Americo is packed by his clan and no one can touch him.

Only the Abgaal clan chief can replace Mohamed Ali Americo and his replacement will be another Abgaal!
