Masha'allah it's great (and refreshing) to see someone using critical thinking (as you did) before jumping the band wagon to condemn Nuruddin. Me reading your editorial is the weirdest thing ever, I hardly visit Somali websites and your editorial made me create an account just to shed some light on the "afghan" comment by Nuruddin. I have heard of Nuruddin vaguely for many years but in the last few months my curiosity Has grown. A Kenyan friend of mine encouraged me to read his book "Yesterday, Tomorrow". I started my search to find his book. Every bookstore I called didn't carry it. As, I searched I only heard negative comments about him from Somalis. It only flamed my curiosity even more. I was lucky to find out two months ago that he would be in Mpls that day for a reading. He is an amazing man. We (Somalis) are so lucky to have him amongst us. He does us proud. A deeply intelligent and passionate man. His love for Somali can not be doubted. A brilliant man and author! After reading from 2 of his books. It was time for Q&A. He tried his best to stir away from controversial issues and focus on literature But of course some of the Somalis in attendance came for blood and persisted until they drew blood. A Somali lady asked him, are you disappointed with Somali men? Since you’re considered/called a feminist? Nuruddin replied, I'm disappointed in men in general and yes Somali men. Whoever Mr. Nuudadiin is, in terms of writing novels and admirations given to him by others, he remains to be a human who is subject to errors and mistakes.  This being the case, he {Nuradiin} should be corrected. A level reached by Ayan Hersi and Khadra. Their plan is to destroy our faith. They seek to destroy Islam jurisprudence. We must stop them and work towards undermining their teachings. I don't follow my religion the way I am supposed to but I don't attack the principles of our faith.
