Im just wondering why people are  praising Raage Omaar. What he said is what most of us have known, let him educate white folks, who dont even know where Raage Omaar is from. Those white folks associate all blacks with, hunger, wars, corruption, mistreatment of women, AIDS, TB, the damn list is long.

 Ragge Omar For President.

Somalia would have been a better place if 5 people like Ragge Omar are running the Somalian Affairs.
Young mind like Ragge's will only solve our great Problems. Until those minds emerges we will be where we are today. Keep Up the good work Ragge. Somalia and somalis loves you. By the way, i've watched your Program "Returning the homeland" at your witness program on AlJazira/Eng. And the city you were visiting, is the city where my father was born.

The most important think I take note is that Raage started his article to say he is from Somalia, where not known Somalis in west refuse to identify them selves these days as Somalis. The other important aspect is that he gave time to write about the situation in Somalia as well known journalist respected all over the world his article carries more weight than many so called Somali experts who relies who writes baseless reports from expensive hotels in Nairobi

Ethiopia as a people has nothing to gain going war with IUC but Melez as other dictators in Africa wants to use this as lifeline to prolong his totalitarian rule. Meles’ actions are going to strengthen the IUC and can distabilise Ethiopia. Ethiopian people should rise against this authoritarian before it is too late he causes irreparable chaos in the Horn of Africa.
    Yousef2 @ 12/11/2006 3:44 PM EST
Raage Omaar's reporting is biased towards the UIC. Not only him, but all of Aljazeera. Infact they have a permanent representative in Mogadiscio and a cameraman ready to capture every small event of the UIC, while they do not have a reporter in Baidoa. All media is biased, but Aljazeera (and Raageh) are a bit too much biased.

Raage it was a brilliant article ,add that to fact that
Americans are not known for being peacfull,or for that
matter peace loving people,It is a cowboy culture ,that
in the long, run doesnt work, any form of arrogance ,never
pays, kibirka waa lagu kufaa waa lagu kala jabaa,as we
Somalians say, all, the great civilisations have gone, the
same way ,as u put it the somali religouse courts are
here and they would not disappear only becouse some
foreign forces dont appreciate them, they represent the
people,power to the people,justice would prevail.I
could keep on and writting about the somali camel boys
culture of which I am one ,resilience, endurace,
arrogance, spirit ,and love for independence, and ,
individualistic nature,at the same time for uniqness,
of Somalism,it is a complex,culture,that foreigners,
never understood, not the kremelin not the whihte house
History repeats itself,to cut my oppinion short ninki
dhoof ku yimid eey geerido dhibeeysaa, take that as an axiom

Well said Kibo. Why on earth does it even necessary to mention what the guy consumes, for fun, or for addiction reasons? The point of this page is not to discuss the lifestyle of the writers, am I right guys, but to discuss the issues they present.
    kibogoyo @ 12/11/2006 11:30 AM EST
Who cares what the writer smokes or consumes. We are interested in his work not his faith. Did you forget probably most Somalis Use intoxicants such as Khat? Just Coz they chew cuds like camels you don't take their ideas? Sory Mr. Critics you didn't make a point. try again.
    Critic @ 12/9/2006 2:27 PM EST
Well, I don’t understand why most of the guys commented on Rage’s  personality rather than the article he wrote about the current political crisis in our country, you guys should focus on something else than wasting your time, on this man influenced by the western culture. He is no longer Somali citizen and by the way we are not sure whether he practises the Islamic religion as he said in one of his TV series programmes  called (MIRACLES OF JESUS CHRIST) released by the BBC TWO  last summer. He said he was born in as Muslim, which I doubt the way he put it as he is no longer or practises!

Any way , we all now know that Rage Omar has been on the booze for the last five years, why on earth these people are praising such an alcoholic man! Shame on you guys! He is a journalist as that is his career, but let’s not make him what he is not!

Mr Critics

Raage you are a briliant journalist and a brave reporter and i admire and respesct how you handled the danger on the ground and the unrelent scrutiny of the westren media when you were covering the war in Iraq . Now there is no need for me to rebeat and remind us that things are much better in our country  than they were under the ungodly days of the warlords and iam sure your advocacy can make great difference in promoting  awareness and peace in Somalia
    lola @ 12/9/2006 7:41 AM EST
get article raage, you are truely great role model.
    waddani1 @ 12/9/2006 1:51 AM EST
Well done, Mr. Omaar, Always try to take your time to show the World the unpolitical games being played in our country by America and its poor agents in the horn of Africa.
    sheikhuna @ 12/9/2006 1:47 AM EST
QIQ 504..you know the way things are going on..Indeed yes! the gap is closing so fast and so they have to close the gate tight on some like somalia..But wait inshallah..the reverse will happen for them and Ethiopia.
    cali @ 12/9/2006 1:19 AM EST

When you see people like raage Oomaar and likes doing this then you know which way the political wind in Somalia is blowing. This is a hurricane Larry in the Horn of Africa and I think the door is closing on the face of CIA and the Bush unless the follow the tracks of that wind. Meles is hardly capable of paving the way for the intended outcome let alone achieving it.

The man is a sandwich between two hard rocks. The Ethiopian opposition that is circling around for the traces of a TPLF blood and the entire Somali public under the leadership of UIC here in the Somali republic that has no choice but to defend the territorial integrity of the Somali Republic which is under foreign Invasion. It is unwinable fight, or should I say it is mission impossible
    somaalidoon @ 12/8/2006 8:43 PM EST
Due to your status as an icon and the current situation in our country, I think your stand shown by your article is the only save and politically correct way that you can take.  You ignored the simplistic family feud that is the foundation for this problem, and you concentrated more on the outside interference.  I think very few people can seemingly take side without alienating the other side, and I think you are among the few.
    moajax @ 12/8/2006 3:41 PM EST
well said. you are the only somalian in the elite media, hope you shed light on the real issues in somalia.
