I believe President Farmaajo's talks with Saudis includes the recent UAE military base that it hopes to open in Berbera.

If Somaliland wants economic developments, it must end its fruitless secession.

This isn't a blackmail, but simply accepting the reality that they can only get economic developments as part of a sovereign Somalia.

For Somalia to accept anything else would be to accept Somaliland's secession.

I always knew it would come to this: Somalia holds the keys to Somaliland's economic developments.

I do not even think that giving this military base to the UAE is worth Somali Union.

I can accept the DP World deal if it led to Somali Union.

It's time to talk seriously to Somaliland leaders.

What is Somaliland's choice going to be: A fruitless search for recognition which brings only poverty or Somali Union with economic developments while keeping some of your autonomy?

Somaliland leaders do accept this fact in private but president Farmaajo cannot continue to play this charade anymore and must tell Somaliland leaders to come clean with their public.

The money Somaliland is to receive from the military base deal is so small that one is led to believe that some, if not most, of the money has been given to the leaders of Somalia.

Much of the money in the deal is missing and the poor Somali public has been scre-wed.

I think the whole Somaliland and Somalia talks are just a sh-am and it is just a ruse to con the Somali public.

It's been a half a dozen years but they haven't even taken a single step forward towards finding some sort of a resolution.

These talks have become the same sort of soap opera we see in Somali politics in Mogadishu.

Somalis call Somali parliament "call box" because of it rampant corruption and the bribing of MPs.

These are similar and they should be called "call box talks". Or you might call it "bollox talks"

The IC know the game but the poor Somali people are lied to by greedy politicians.

This another reason why the IC do not take seriously Somaliland's quest for independence.

What do you think the IC make of it when they see how Somali leaders on both sides act behind closed doors when they get together and how they act for the cameras afterwards?

They may fool poor Somali public but the IC knows their game and I don't think they are that impressed.

I dont trust this farmajo bloke one little bit but even I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Given that the criminal so-called International Community have imposed this guy to have a say innour democratic affaisr in Somaliland, we have no choice but to deal with him, from a position weakness thanks to the US, UN, EU, AU, Britain and others. If he has a true ledaer with vision, he will realise that the best thing for Somalia, Somaliland the the Somali race is to let go of somaliland. He can start with a visit there, something his Hawiyer predecessros did not have the cojones to do it
