Firstly one clan is no barrier to either nationhood or democratic process. Indeed there are soveireign nation who are almost literally one large extended family. Think Andorra, Lichtenstein, Monaco and all the small pacific rim islands. Secondly Somaliland is no one clan: every clan in every corner is taking part in the democratic process freely and enthusistically. Seeing mass rallies from Tukraq in the far east to Zeila in the far north must really hurt. Thirdly our last elected president but one and much loved by hardcore Landers is Samaroon. Unless of course you think Dir is one clan
