Is it possible that Presdent is playing a game of divide and weaken with Al-Shabab by arming a moderate group or one that he feels he can control? If he is then he is doing the right thing. Actually I will say he is doing the right thing if he arms his Hawiye clan militias as a counterforce to Al-Shabab. Ultimately the only force that can defeat Al-Shabab is if the Hawiye turn on them wholesale as a clan. they will be finished within months. No amount of urundi-burundi mercenaries, american drones, Arab money or Turkish sentimental naiveity can do that. Perhaps President Culsow knows that. Worth thinking beyond the headlines sometimes.

Nothing is too sacred for Moryaan to turn into a money-making business. They will sale weapons and their uniforms, even ID cards just to make few shillings. The hell with a country--that is their motto!

 Assault riffles,rocket launchers,grenades and
ammunition was always available to most Somalis.
Somalia needs real military hardware like TANKS
and A.P.C to defeat Shabaab.U.N should not worry
about heavy equipment because no clan can hide a
tank in their villages.

Looks like the Nairobi UN boys are up to their usual "I heard from Abdi, who heard from Hussain, who chatted with Ahmed, who slept with Yusuf sister that........"
