This ambassador was part of the problem, she was one of the people who have been advocating illegal Tigrean invasion of Somalia. This is based on the islamophic policies of Bush adminstration. The fact that she is prematurely claiming victory is reminiscent of the victories in Iraq and Afganistan. I can assure you that Tigrean invading troops will leave Somalia defeated, most of them in body bags( although they do not even have a body part to transport their killed troops). To prevent such outcome, Tigrean troops should leave Somalia as soon as possible unconditionally.

We have great tendency to blame and disagree with any one who tries to bring us together for the sake of our unity and integrity no matter what their long time interest might be. I beleive this is a golden chance for us to support the transitional governmemt and allow the rest of the world help us rebuild our country once and for all

Well presented, fair enough. But why is it that those that filled higher positions in the US administration can only speak and rally the truth, fully or partially, after retirement. Will the current officers heed her comment, quote "Development should prepare for a transition to a broad based government that 'EXCLUDE'(the million dollar magic word) the Islamic militants but includes the moderates from all of Somalia's clans."

It is the interest of the United states to accept Somalia as an Islamic State to show the rest of the Muslim world that you are not against all muslims. Whether you like it or not Somalia will become and Islamic state. Islam is the only thing that can unite somalis.

They can’t force their will on us. Ethiopia itself is falling apart, believe me Somalia will outlive many of its enemies because we are already dwelling in the future of all African countries. It seems we are well adapted and doing quite well.

The “ambassador” seems to be well protected from the realities of the horn and this is reflected in his naïve, child like assumptions about the intricate and complicated problems in Somalia and not to mention his simplistic remedy. No wonder the world is at war if these are his true convictions!

I agree too. His propasal is making sense and it is all about, sticking and implementing the AU troops as an alternative to Ethiopia. All those things need funds, EU and US should talk about $$$$ delivery.

I agree with the ambassador that, to put it in my own words, the sooner the AU troops get going the better so that Ethopian soldiers can withdraw from the country. This does two things. First it will put an end to ICU claims that Ethopia wants to stay in Somalia and occopy it for a while. Second, as the Ambassador suggests, the presence of AU troops in Somalia will "dampen the Islamists Bravado" and hopefully keep them away from returing in the long run.
