Well,My only  concern is the level of sophistication and intellect that Zanawi has. He is ineed up against us and the only way to beat him is simply to turn his hypocrisy into reality where we all come together and unite as one people and one nation under god. Otherwise, we cannot just hope this Monster Zanawi to collapse under his own weight like Saddam. He really seems to  have learned a lot. He probably got a crash course from the united states, thanks to our tax money. As simple and as naive as we may be, we have to really come together and fight this out so that your  child and my child could have a future and a place called home, and more importantly a place called Somalia.

With or without Zenawi in the picture, as Somalians
we are enemy #1 to ourselves. We gave the opportunity
to Zenawi, and he took it; just that simple.
Whether we blame warlords or few self-centered
individuals at the end of the day we are all together
in this mess. By the way “God doesn’t change people
unless they change themselves”. We destroyed our
country with the help of so called international
community/UN, EU what ever, and we are going to come
up with the solution to build it. Anyway who cares
about Somali killing another Somali? According to
the world perspective we are monkeys killing each
other for no reason. The million dollar question is:
are we ready yet or we have more miles to cover for
our corrupted, dirty, cheap, and so called tribal
expedition. I believe it is time for us to stop the
rhetoric, the blame game, and take some responsibility
to what we did to ourselves because no one is going
to fix our problems except us. May God bless and bring
the Nasr to my beloved people and country Aaamiin.
Ilaahayow Soomaliya Dhibka ka qaad aaamiin.

Well, I don't blame Meles Zanawi. If Meles would have missed the golden opportunity to knocking down and eliminate his long archenemy, he will be called a foolish and dirty. Oversuply of sub-sbu clanish attitude is actual what helped him to invade somalia.

He got it and used it wisely.

“I, for one, have no ill feelings for this man [Meles Zenawi]….. He is a very brilliant and politically-savvy person,” Colhaye, wrote.

I must say that I agree with Colhaye on the overall context of his comment, and the message he is conveying. But, to call the bloodsucking butcher Zenawi, a brilliant man who is politically-savvy, is beyond me. And, to admit that he doesn’t hold any ill feelings for the man, is an insult to the thousands of Somalis Zenawi had maimed, the other thousands he had made homeless and destitute, and the millions who’re biting their lower lip in sheer agony, hoping one day to correct historic wrongs and avenge for the victims of his terr’or.

Newsweek: “How much direct financial support has Ethiopia received from the United States to help pay for this intervention?

Melez Zenawi: “Zero”.
What a perennial and chronic liar you’re!
According to reliable sources, this is the amount Ethiopia received from the US in the so-called war on terr’or Ethiopia is conducting in Somalia on behalf of America:

“The US provides some $283m (£140m) in military and humanitarian aid to Ethiopia and has trained its military – one of the largest and strongest in Africa.”

This is the officially published figure. So far, we don’t know the hidden, unofficial, secret financial and military aid Ethiopia receives from the US and how they fund their war in Somalia. My guess is twice or trice that quoted figure.

This liar, Zenawi, has the audacity to claim that he doesn’t get financial and military aid from the US. What a liar!

Things will settle down. Somalia has the best chance as of now.
I am for the TFG and the great work it has done for the Somalis.

Colhaye, never mind what this dictator has done for his country and his people which in lay man's words is that he had opened another unsustainable, bloody and dangerous front and it is draining the economy of poor Ethiopia . Now , what is sad and worth mentioning is his illegal invation of a sovereign state and the massacre of hundreds of thousands of innocent somalis , not to mention those countless civilians mostly women and children who are forced from their homes by the daily onslaught of the Ethiopia artillary and that is sad and unacceptable . In my book Meles is a dictator who has blood in his hands and he should be held accoutable for his evil deeds here in somalia and in Ethiopia as well
    Colhaye @ 4/11/2008 2:56 PM EST
I, for one, have no ill feelings for this man because he has done what is good for his country and people. Ethiopia will never accept and rejoice a strong and united Somalia on the other side of the forged border. If I were him, I would have done the same thing. What is wrong with that? He is a very brilliant and politically-savvy person who managed to keep Somalia in small fiefdoms under his rule using faithful and obeying warlords as subordinates like Yeey. Here are some of Meles’s achievements in Somalia:
-Actively campaigning to breakaway Somaliland
-Made once stable and economically flourishing Puntland a place where parasites feed on the humanitarian agencies
-Forced over one million Muqdisho natives out of their homes and made their homes graves and empty walls
-Allowed and installed gluttonous and unpatriotic people to rule Kismaayo who, by the way, don’t even support the so-called TFG

Those are just few of this man’s achievements.

"So withdrawing unilaterally without AU peacekeepers is an option that you're looking at now?
Well that's an option. It's an option we will not take lightly. But it's an option."

This response tells me that Meles is feeling the pain inflected to him by the resistence. It is coming to that point where Meles has to reset his cards to device a plan for easy way out. Let us join our fellow Somalis who resisted this evil occupation by any means necessary.

The Somali-problem lies with Mogadisho, that's where Mogadishu neighbors looted and turned on their neighbors (remember Ceydiid in 1990s).  Every Somali gov't Hawiye or Darood has been undermined in Mogadishu! Honestly, the Ethiopian invasion just took place last year, but the fact of the matter is, Somali civil war has been going on 16 years prior to Ethiopian intervention.  So logically, those who blame Somali's crisis on other counties are either dishonest or uninformed.  If we can solve the Mogadishu problem, the Somali problem is solved, it is as simple as that. Mogadishu is holding us all hostage. Honestly, I don't believe the so called Somali Gov't nor do I do support those who have uprooted their own neighbors and are responsible for our demise in the past 17 years. But as a rational person, the alternative is choosing b/w Alshabaab, an offshoot of Al-Qaida or TFG/Ethiopia, my bet is that, the latter seems better alternative since it isn't an ideology based alliance and would easily go away when there’s no more Alshabaab and Co.
    Fiqicigaal @ 4/11/2008 1:25 PM EST
Meles played his cards through the sub-sub-sub clanish attitude he had mentioned , but can he fools us all the time ? not any more and we are on war with him and there is no turning back till he withdraws his baboons from every inch of somali soil
    shabeel @ 4/11/2008 12:54 PM EST
" An oversupply of national sentiment is not the problem in Somalia. The problem in Somalia is a lack of it. The problem in Somalia is an oversupply of sub-sub-clannish attitude."
that is painfully true and that is why this Abyssinian Machiavelli is able to freely and arrogantly rule and dictate Somalia's destiny. He is our master and owner!

Hello Every one a sad day in Somalia's history and sovereignty, this is clearly a violation to a sovereign country's reputation. When who ever has a question about our homeland goes to Adis Ababa as if it's Mogadishu and Meles is our president and not Abdullahi Yussuf. Ethiopian Soldiers have  another agenda in Somalia. They are not there to neutralize a threat they are in somalia to colonize. They have also commited a number of attrocities in our homealand. Meles lied about the support he gets from the U.S. I hope this occupation ends sooner rather than later, and the U.S. will realize what they are doing in Somalia by sending in our main arch enemy is not the best way to protect Americans. I will also blame some Somalians for the mess we have in our homeland. They are part of the problem, instead of been part of the solution. Until we Somalians start believing in Somalihood and not clanhood we will have the Ethiopians rule us and the Habash will be the biggest and the best clan in Somalia. Thank you for reading my comment.
