AdamJama, I believe in maandeeq, and hope it will
come the day it will deliver twins of hope and prosperity,
Insha Allah! However, in my point of view we should wait
for the two years only after the following conditions are met:
1) Ethiopians out not only of our soil but also of our affairs.
2) True reconciliation which includes the UIC and civil society
organizations I mean the ones excluded from the Embghati.
3) An enlarged parliament at least another 180 MPs (intellectuals,
businessmen, UIC members). The criteria for the 180 should be
based on their integrity and proved patriotic feelings not on 4.5 method.
4) A linear government of national unity just 30 people representing
Somalis and not particular clans, again no to 4.5 criteria.

Then, I don't mind waiting for the two and half years.

However, if we wait under the current status the situation
will worsen and in 1999, Somalia will be part and parcel
of Ethiopia a situation similar to the Zone 5 (Killilka 5aad).
By then the world will have forgotten about us. Therefore, we
should act now.

When the Somali nation whose nickname is "Maandeeq"suffered so many years under brutal war lords & criminals they were expecting a genuine relief & stability,instead,they got "Maqaar saar"package full of garbage,criminals,war lords,and our arch enemy Ethiopia.
If you look at it closely,the package looks Somali on the surface but is lethal & deadly inside.
So,my sincere question to you brothers & sisters is should we accept the "Maqaar saar" ploy as it is and hope in two years "Maandeeq" will mate again,carry full term,and deliver twins of hope & prosperity.
Or should we fight against the Ethiopians & their stooges to the last man,because there is no hope in the package you see infront of you.
Do some brainstorming and see where you mind & heart leads you in your quest for answers.

Ken, knows very well Somalia and its problem. It is a
rational solution to the problem. However, there are two
issues that he did not take into account. That is a
scenario where Ethiopia will not leave at all and the
resistance will continue with the fighting. My question
to the International Community is: why you are neglecting
the will of the Somali People in the Central and
Southern Somalia? They overwhelmingly supported UIC
and wanted the Koran as their constitution. Can u leave
them alone for God's sake? Can u take Abdullahi, Gedi
and supporters to Addis for the remaining 2 & 1/2 years.
I am sure people will be better off and then we can have
an enabling environment for election Insha Allah in 2009.

Neither Ken nor the jihadists are needed in Somalia.
There will be no reconciliation with the defunct IUC,
and those who once again changed from CIMAAMAD to BAASUUKE.
They have no place in Somalia and thus have to do what they
have to do. The TFG is capable of defeating them in the near
future. For those of you who are sceptics time will convince you
and there is no going back. The march to nationhood will go
forward regardless of what the timid, brainwashed punch of
hoodlems and thugs think about it. No matter how high
the ICU cries no one, and particularly the TFG, is not going to heed
their illadvised, simplistic narrow minded vision of the future of Somalia.

Ken Menkhause is one of few pundits on Somalia crisis. He
seems to have grasped the roots of the problem and offers
fairly realistic and objective remedies.

I suspect warlord Abdilahi Yosof & his Tigre stooges will
simpy ignore yet another important advise.

What the author did not acknowledge in his article is the UIC’s innovative ideas to govern Mogadishu and unite all warring functions under the umbrella of Islamic Unions. The unconditional inclusive of the UIC leaders in the reconciliation processes is preconditioned qualifications of peaceful dialogue. Failure to enter their grievances into equation will pave the way further tensions and the immediate demise of the gaffer and his TFG

These thugs are in position where they do not have 1inche space to move forward, there was lot of aspiration and a need for national government before these thugs arrive in Mogadishu, were are all dose today? View army resistance cannot rule approximately 2milion inhabitant of Mogadishu if the people of Mogadishu have any need for these thugs who are claiming to be internationally recognised Somali transitional administration, please do not be deceived by baseless propaganda of HABELKAA BEENLE who is saying we know were our attackers are, why didn’t he go and kill them if he knows? Alternatively, is he waiting the war-keepers to do that for him? Were is you’re intelligent when you have in mind these thugs will rule Somalia without the will of Somalia’s?

I agree with the author on several points; even though he seems to be exaggerating the strength of the so-called 'opposition' to the TFG and also under-evaluating the intelligence, support and capabilities of the TFG. Bottom line: his article seems to be based on the famous Somali saying "Khair wax kuma yeelee, shar u tooghay", which is not bad.
