Las Anod (HOL) — The SSC-Khaatumo administration has accused Puntland of interfering in its autonomy, straining relations between the two regional administrations.
During a press conference, SSC-Khaatumo Minister of Planning Ahmed Diiriye said that Puntland's Planning Minister, Da'ud Bisinle, has been actively working to fuel discord between the regions.
Diiriye alleged that agencies dispatched from Puntland's capital, Garowe, were told to implement projects in SSC-Khaatumo territories without consulting local authorities. "We will take clear action against any agency that bypasses our system and attempts to carry out projects in SSC-Khaatumo areas," he warned.
The minister also criticized SSC politicians serving in Puntland, accusing them of spearheading what he described as "harassment" against SSC-Khaatumo's administration.
The dispute underscores ongoing tensions between Puntland and SSC-Khaatumo, which continue to challenge efforts to encourage regional cooperation and stability.
