"Today, the country faced chaos, protests, riots, and attempted killings. A soldier was arrested for shooting at another soldier. Ibrahim Aydeed is ruling here, while the President controls our logic," the Sultan stated.

He urged the youth to maintain peace, asserting that the government intended to incite war and cause problems, but he remained committed to peace.

Mayor of Hargeisa Abdikarin Ahmed Mooge confirmed that one of the Igal Airport security guards shot at the protesters and assured that legal action would be taken against the officer involved.

Ibrahim Aydeed, whom the Sultan accused of arresting Dool, denied the accusation, stating he had no involvement in the arrest. Aydeed is a social media personality who supports the government.

Dool was arrested at the airport upon his return from abroad. Supporters who gathered at Igal Airport to welcome him protested his arrest, which remains in effect. Dool, a member of the Somaliland diaspora and a former representative of the Waddani party in Europe, is known for his fierce social media critiques of the Somaliland government. Although he has visited Somaliland several times without incident, the reasons for his current detention remain unclear.

Sultan Daoud Sultan Mohamed Sultan Abdiqadir was crowned the Supreme Chief of Somaliland in 2021, inheriting his title following the death of his father, Sultan Mohamed Sultan Abdiqadir. As the head of the Isaaq clan, Sultan Daoud wields considerable power in Somaliland.
