Kismayo (HOL) - Somali army forces, backed by local clan militias, recaptured Bulo Haji, a strategic area located approximately 80 kilometers south of Kismayo, the capital of the Lower Jubba region on Monday.
Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre congratulated the Somali National Army and the Jubbaland administration for their victory against al-Shabab in the Jubbaland region.
"I praise the National Heroes Army for their bravery, diligence, and honesty in liberating the country from the Khawarij," said Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre.
The Prime Minister pledged that the liberated areas will receive basic services such as education, health, and security, just like other areas freed from al-Shabab.
The Somali army's capture of the Bulo Haji area comes a day after Somali government forces took control of Runirgood village in the Middle Shabelle region, located on the border between the Middle Shabelle and Galgadud regions.
