Gunman kills two men over land dispute in Mogadishu's Deyniile district

    Mogadishu (HOL) - A gunman killed two men in Mogadishu's Deyniile district on Thursday night following a dispute over inherited land between the assailant and the victims.

    According to the Deputy Commissioner of Security for Deyniile administration, the victims were identified as Abdinur Sandhere, also known as Abdi Gedow and Abdullahi Osman Shidane.

    The perpetrator, armed with an AK47 rifle, fled the scene after the killings.

    "The murders stemmed from a longstanding dispute over inherited land. We are currently pursuing the man responsible for the deaths of the two civilians," he added.

    Incidents of violence related to inheritance and land disputes have been on the rise in Mogadishu and other parts of the country in recent years, with several cases currently being heard in the courts.
