Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali police force has apprehended two men for allegedly raping a young girl in Mogadishu on Thursday.
According to the police command of the general division of Banadir region, Ahmed Moalim Abdi, 22 years old, and Ali Ahmed Nur, 33 years old, were arrested in the Hiliwa district.
"The Police Force at Hiliwa District Police Station arrested the suspects following a special security operation. The Somali Police Force stands for the protection of public security," the police command said.
Earlier this month, Somali police arrested Yusuf Dahir Hassan, 53, for allegedly raping and kidnapping an 11-year-old girl in Mogadishu. Police officials confirmed that the incident occurred on March 31, 2023.
Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the command of the general division of the police in Banadir region has significantly increased operations to ensure the security of the capital city of Mogadishu.
